(Oct. 30-31, 2021) and (Jan. 8-9, 2022)
Ages 10-16. Each young sportsman must be accompanied at all times by a non-hunting adult, 21 years of age or older, who must remain in a position to take immediate control of the hunting device and must also comply with fluorescent orange regulations, as specified for legal hunters. The accompanying non-hunter must be licensed through the State of TN and MLAAP Hunting Program for that season. Youth are required to possess a Hunter Education Card, State of TN License and MLAAP Gun Deer Permit (or) MLAAP Sportsman Permit for the 2020-2021 season. A maximum of one (1) youth hunter per one (1) non-hunting adult is required to participate. All other State of TN and MLAAP deer hunting regulations, quotas and weapons restrictions will apply. One (1) deer of either sex may be harvested per day. All deer harvested will count toward MLAAP Season Bag Limit and State of TN Bag Limit for that youth hunter. The youth hunter is the sole responsibility of the non-hunting adult.
Youth hunters are eligible to hunt the remainder of deer season for which they are licensed. However, they must be accompanied at all times by a MLAAP Licensed adult, 21 years of age or older, who must remain in a position to take immediate control of the hunting device. Any violation of hunting regulations will result in a penalty being assessed on both hunters and could result in the loss of hunting privileges for both individuals at the discretion of the Natural Resource Management Office or Commander’s Representative.
(Drawn Public Hunters are excluded from participation in Young Sportsman Seasons on MLAAP)
